Welcome
Welcome from the President.
Welcome to the new Bombers Website.
It’s taken longer than expected but it is finally here. Many thanks again to Carly Hack for her patience and hard work to get this website up and running.
League Women won back to back Premierships & League Men won the Premiership after 22 seasons! What a great achievement and I congratulate all who were involved!! Well Done!
Congratulations also to our Men’s B Grade who won the Premiership in a nail biting overtime 9 – 7 win over Woodville. A great result by Coach Phil Elson and his team.
Commiserations to the Women’s Reserves and B Grade who made their respective Grand finals but were unsuccessful on the day. The club is proud of your efforts well done to coaches Stacey Appleton and Ray Polotnianka.
Also commiserations to the Men’s Reserves and Coach Glen Revell, who were eliminated in the Preliminary final by the eventual Premiers Glenelg Seahawks. The team was not helped by LSA’s interpretation of the bylaws which saw 3 players unable to play in any grades on the day! I am assured that this will be addressed by LSA next season.
A summary of all teams’ results can be found on the Results page of our website.
Congratulations also to Cassie Cursaro for winning the Bonython Medal for the League Women’s Best and Fairest Player. We wish you every success in your college lacrosse career in the US
Congratulations also to Mel Williams who was runner up to Cassie and also won the League’s Most Valuable Player. Well done Magician.
Congratulations to Leigh Perham for winning the Memorial Medal for The League Men’s Best and Fairest Player for the second year in a row. A great achievement and thoroughly deserved. Congratulations to Mark Mangan who was runner up to Leigh and was also the League’s Highest Goal Scorer.
As President, I am very proud of our season on and off the field, but mainly on the field. It is my belief that the strength of your club is measured by many things, but on field success of your top senior teams is the ultimate display of your strength as a club.
Thanks to all parents and junior players who attended the Junior Presentation Day at the club. It was great to see so many new faces at the Club. Well done to the U18 Girls who were Premiers and all the individual award winners on the day. Thanks to Trish Adams efforts for organizing the day, it was a great success!
I want to also take this opportunity to thank our US players Collin Finnerty and Dan D’Agnes, they have settled into our team and club beautifully. Both made significant contributions to our season on and off the field. We will certainly miss them when they return home and we wish you well in the future and hope that you return (next season would be good!) in the future.
I would also like to thank all of our members who made Collin and Dan feel so at home.
I hope you enjoyed the 80th Anniversary Dinner as much as I did. Have a good break and I look forward to seeing you back at the start of next season.
